Description

My strength lies in a passion for the arts. Although I graduated with an MFA in painting, I am keenly interested in, and have written about, sculpture, film, and literature. My features and shorter reviews have been published in Art New England, Vermont Magazine, Southern Vermont Arts & Living, ArtVoices, American Craft Magazine, The Commons, and The Brattleboro Reformer (where I was a regular arts feature writer for ten years).

I have a deep involvement with the literary arts, having co-founded Write Action, a networking and advocacy nonprofit organization in 2000. I have edited and co-edited two anthologies of local writing through Write Action, in 2003 and 2010. This, and other arts advocacy work has given me a deep knowledge and appreciation for the arts in Vermont, especially southern Vermont. In addition, I often travel to New York City, and throughout New England to look at and write about shows in galleries and museums.

Of literary forms, besides my work as a writer on the arts, I am particularly interested in poetry, and in 2014 published a chapbook, Voices Like Wind Chimes.
